September news 1.0

Where has the time gone?  Seriously, I feel as though I am still recovering from San La Muerte fest that went down the last weekend of August in San Antonio, Tx.  We came back home to record breaking heat and mounds of work from our day jobs as well as plenty of label work to catch up on.  Anyway, it’s good to be back home and I’m glad we were able to take the time off to go to Texas.  My only complaint really is that I gained like 10lbs back from what I lost before I left for the trip.  Regardless, it was such an amazing weekend where too much fun was had as well as meeting some of my favorite people in the world finally.  The fest was pretty much perfect, not too many bands and all of them could have easily been headliners.  Really it was so perfect, I can not thank Robert enough for including us and taking such great care of us while we were there.  He really went above and beyond for everyone. Cemetery and Annex both killed it with their live performances.  For me they were the highlights and for probably personal reasons, but really all the bands were great.  I also wanted to mention the local San Antonio band Encrypted, they were like industrial electronic anarcho crust, I can’t even explain it.. They were also awesome, something I have not seen yet with all the resurgence in the dark punk movement.  I’ll probably post a link for them in case anyone wants to check them out.  San La Muerte #3 is already in it’s planning stages, it will take place in San Antonio, Tx. late August 2016.  If you would like to play or show in the art show please contact us.

Mass Media Records and family “Christ vs. Warhol // Annex // Cemetery”

Ok, so now for the news.  Despite the above poster including Lost Tribe, they actually did not play and Anasazi took their place.  Lost Tribe quietly announced shortly before their Texas/Mexico tour that they had broken up.  In the works at that time was a split ep with Australian band Masses, that of course has now been shelved and Masses has gone onto to write and record their 1st full length LP.

Fall marks the start of tour season Lunch will be embarking on a mini West Coast tour playing in Oakland with labelmates Altar De Fey.  Meanwhile, Altar De Fey’s LP is still at the pressing plant awaiting test presses.

Shadowhouse are also touring Europe in October and will be playing some amazing shows including a show in Denmark with Melting Walkmen and Return to the Batcave in Poland with Masquerade.  Shadowhouse will also have a Euro pressing of “Hand in Hand” LP on CD format released on Manic Depression Records as well as a cassette version released on Resurrection Records.

Chicago natives Population and Cemetery are also touring in October.  Population will kick off their tour on September 29th playing with Chameleons and labelmates Soft Kill.  They will also be playing a few Texas dates with labelmates Annex.  Population also self-released a cassette of their LP “Beyond the Pale” for tour!  I’ll post all the dates in the next few days.

Test presses for both L’obscurite EP and Bat Nouveau LP have been approved and pre-orders will be posted in the next couple of weeks. Also, the Annex EP on Occult Whispers has been approved and should also be out relatively soon.  MOTH / Infinite Void EP and Hemgraven EP test presses have all been approved too.  The Prison LP and YPJ support comp on Saudade Records should be out soon as well.  So this fall will be a heavy release season for all of us it seems.

Lastly, we wanted to announce that we will reissue Soft Kill’s “An Open Door” LP. We are so incredibly honored and excited about this release.  Soft Kill also have a new LP “Heresy” that is being released on No Sun Recordings and by Funeral Party in limited cassette tape format.  They are also playing tons of shows with Chameleons Vox and are pretty responsible for all the great supporting acts that are playing with Chameleons Vox along the way.
